The Gődény-Déjardin Duo

Márta Gődény, piano | Renaud Déjardin, cello

Márta Gődény and Renaud Déjardin met in 1996 at the «Conservatoire de Paris » while completing their soloist diploma. Since then, they have been regularly playing together, forming an unusual duo combining their individual virtuosistic qualities with many years of common reflexions on a personal way of interpreting.

They are at ease with every kind of repertoire, and serve all music including contemporary pieces and less-known repertoire. Their interpretations of classical and romantic standards are particularly appreciated for their force of conviction enhanced by their natural enthusiasm and vivacity.

As soloists, they both are winners of several prestigious international competitions andarelaureatesofthe « Groupe Banque Populaire » Foundation. As a duo they have been laureates of the « Fnapec » competition, receiving award from the French Ministry of Culture ; they have been chosen to take part in the « Déclic » program of the « AFAA » of French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and are sent regularly on international tours (Hungary, Middle-East, United States, etc…).

They have recorded all Bohuslav Martinu’s sonatas by the label Arion, which received critical acclaim.
