It's Christmas Time at the AF de Washington

From December 9 to 14, the Alliance Française hosted a Christmas Special for all 300 DC public school students involved in the ABEI Educational Initiative

Launched in 2002 by the Alliance Française de Washington in partnerhip with the DCPS, the ABEI program (Anne Bujon Educational Initiative) is bringing language and cultural enrichment programs to the city’s high-need public schools. Each wee,k Alliance Française native French-speaking teachers are in Washington classrooms offering a rich mix of language instruction, songs, field trips, food tastings, and pen-pal exchanges to more than 300 Washington school children in kindergarten through 6th grade. .

This year, the Alliance organized a Christmas Special designed for the ABEI students.  

Students from Ketcham, Lasalle, Randle Highlands and J.O. Wilson Elementary went on a field trip to the Alliance Française where they attended movie screenings and a performance by a clown. The activities also included sweets and chocolate tasting,an exhibit on the traditions of Christmas in France.
