Cultural Programming 2006-2007... and 2007-2008
Friday, June 30, 2006
Summer has arrived bringing the 2005-2006 season to a close.
Yacine Kouhen -who will be with us until September 30th - and I , are currently working on the 2006-2007 season, with obviously a focus on the Fall period.
Philippe Claudel, Thérèse Delpech, Albert Jacquard, Alain Thébault and Souleymane Diagne are scheduled to tour about thirty cities between mid September and the end of November.
The partnership with WACA is off to a promising start with a dozen Alliance chapters who have already signed up. You can invite these lecturers as Alliance française chapters, or send a joint invitation on behalf of your Alliance chapters and the local WACA chapter, when applicable.
In either case, all booking and registration procedures must be made through the Délégation générale.
As far as performers are concerned, the Nantes-based Théâtre Nuit company will be presenting their musical Battements de Coeur pour duo de cordes in October, and the romantic pop duet Alcaz’ will be touring the USA at the end of November. The Duo Benzakoun will be performing in Washington, DC at the invitation of the local Alliance française chapter, at the end of a Canadian tour organized by our counterparts and friends at the Délégation générale Canada.
The deadline of May 31st has long passed but it is still possible, under certain conditions, to enroll your chapters in some of the events for the upcoming season.
Simply click on the link [ Choix de conférences ]you will find the list of the speakers offered by the Délégation générale, with the dates of their tours.
Click on the following link [ Propositions culturelles ] to view the documents presenting the various artists offered by the Délégation générale (id and password as usual).
Please bear in mind that the Délégation générale can only confirm the registration of a chapter once we have received the proper form along with the deposit check. August 30th , 2006 is the deadline for any 2007 event!!!
Just a few more words, about the 2007-2008 season: we have already started working on the program and we are open to any suggestions. Our mission, at the Délégation générale is to offer and organize cultural events, but also to examine and pass on any proposal which can be of interest to as many chapters as possible in this network.
Do call us: whether you have a question, a proposal or need any assistance. We will be here throughout the summer and will be glad to talk with you.
Bien cordialement,
Thierry Lagnau
Délégué général adjoint
