300 titres pour l'enseignant de fle
Thursday, February 04, 2010
The bibliography of 300 titles for French teachers, which has been one of the MERLIN project’s objectives since the website was launched in late 2007, is now available as a complement to the 100 titles for learners of French.
The works chosen by Katharine Branning, Media Library Director of FIAF in New York, and Emmanuel Lainé, Pedagogical Director, constitute a list that teachers who want to round out their training and improve their skills in the many aspects of French language teaching can refer to.
The 300 titles - 314 to be precise – are available to Alliances chapters in the Unites States through inter-library loan. Together, they make up a list that media librarians wishing to progressively build a collection of French language teaching materials relevant to teaching within an Alliance Française can refer to.
The list of 300 titles is organized into three categories:
- Language and linguistics (reference books in linguistics, major topics, seminal works, etc.)
- French Language (history of French, themes related to Francophonie, linguistic idiosyncrasies, etc.)
- French language pedagogy and didactics (practical textbooks/handbooks, the various applications of French language teaching, etc.)

The list of 300 titles was created based on logical selection criteria, established by Katharine Branning and provided in the following documents:
