The Delegation Générale is partially financed by the French Government.
In the United-States, it is also a non-profit organization (501c3 status) representing the 108 Alliances Françaises chapters in the country.
It is run by two General Delegates appointed by the Minitry of Foreign Affairs and the Fondation Alliance Française in Paris.
